Bella Abzug is the co-founder of Rock the Vote, a national organization that encourages young people to register to vote. Abzug has also served in several high-profile political positions created during the 1970s and ’80s, including chair of the New York City Human Relations Commission, chairperson of the U.S. delegation to the UN Human Rights Commission, and delegate to the UN Special Session on Women's Rights. Abzug was also appointed by President Bill Clinton to be part of his successful campaign for re-election in 1996.
